1. Nag file Part 2: Installing Welome to part 2 of the Nag files tutorial. In this tutorial, we will install the Nag file we downloaded in part 1.
2. Open Start menu First click on the icon in the bottom-left to open the Start menu.
3. Start menu The Start menu will open up.
4. Click on Control Panel Click on Control Panel in the right-hand column of the Start menu.
5. Control Panel The Control Panel will open up.
6. Category Make sure that the View status (in the top-right) is set to Category.
7. Hardware and Sound Click on the green Harware and Sound link
8. Sound In the Hardware and Sound panel, click on the blue 'Change system sounds' link.
9. Sound panel The Sound panel will open up. The Sound tab will already be selected.
10. Sound Scheme The selected Sound Scheme is probaly 'Windows Default'. The Sound Scheme is a set of sounds applied to events in WIndows and programs. Here, we can see that the Asterisk event plays a sound called 'Windows error'.
11. Exit Windows event We want to change the sound for the 'Exit Windows' event. Use the scroll bar to look for 'Exit Windows'.
12. Select Exit Windows When you find Exit Windows, click on it.
13. Windows Shutdown The Exit Windows event plays a sound called 'Windows Shutdown'.
14. Browse for Nag file We want to change the Windows Shutdown sound to the Nag file which we downloaded earlier. Click on the 'Browse' button.
15. Browsing for file A Browse window opens up. We saved our file in the Music folder, so click on the 'Music' icon.
16. Nag files folder Here is the Nag files folder which we created earler. Double-click on it to open it up.
17. Nag file In the Nag files folder, we find the Nag file we downloaded earlier. Click on it to select it.
18. Open file The name of the Nag file appears in the File name box at the bottom of the panel. Click the 'Open' button to install the Nag file into the Sound Scheme.
19. Test the Nag file The Nag file now appears in the Sound Scheme as the Exit Windows sound. Click the 'Test' button to listen to it.
20. Windows Default (modified) The name of the selected Sound Scheme has changed from 'Windows Default' to 'Windows Default (modified)'.
21. Windows Default not deleted However, the Windows Default sound scheme has not been deleted. It is still in the list of Sound Schemes. If we want to revert to it, we can simply select it.
22. Save our Sound Scheme Click the 'OK' button to save and apply our modified sound scheme.
23. Finished We have now installed a Nag file which will play when we shut down the computer. Close any open windows, and carry on.
