How to make your own Nag file: Part 1
Using Sound Recorder

You can record your voice on the computer, using a microphone and the Sound Recorder application in WIndows. Having recorded it, you will need to convert it to the right type of sound file called a Wave file, or WAV file.

This tutorial will show you how to reocrd your voice on your PC.

To record your voice on the PC, you need a microphone with a 3.5mm jack. This a pretty standard jack so your microphone will probably have one.

Microphone jacks are often pink or have pink markings. (Speaker or headphone jacks normally are green or have green markings.)

Your microphone may be a stand-alone desktop microphone or be part of a headset. You may also have a microphone built into your webcam. If you have a laptop computer, you may have a webcam and microphone built in. This tutorial will assume you a stand-alone or headset microphone.

1. All programs

Click on the Start menu icon in the bottom left of the screen. Find and click on 'All Programs'.

2. Accesories.

Find and click on 'Accessories'.

3 . Sound Recorder

Find and click on 'Sound Recorder'.

4.The PC Powersave site
The PC Powersave site will open.
This is the site where we find the Nag files.

5. NAG FILES button.
Click the Nag files button.

6. Select Nag files
There are two sets of Nag files. For this tutorial, we will select Standard Nag files.
You can try the Novelty files yourself.

7. Listen to a voice file
Click on the play button of a media player to hear the voice.
Here we are listening to the UK male voice telling us to turn off the screen and printer.

8. Download the file
Right-click on the link next to the speaker icon.

9. Save target as...
A menu will pop up. Click on 'Save target as...'
(If you are using a different browser such as Firefox orGoogle Chrome, it may say 'Save link as...')

10. Choose where to save
We now need to choose where to save the file so we can find it again.
Here we are going to save it in the Music folder.
Click on the Music icon on the left of the Window.

11. The Music library
The Music library panel will open up.
You will probably have some files and folders in here already.

12. Create a New folder
We need to create a new folder to put our file in.
Click on the 'New folder' button at the top of the window.

13. A new folder
A new folder will be created in the Music library.

14. Rename the folder
Rename the file so we can easily find it again.
Here, I have called it 'Nag files'.

15. Open the new folder
To open the new folder, click the 'Open' button at the bottom of the window.

16. The new folder opens
Our new 'Nag files' folder opens.

17. Save the Nag file
To save the Nag file in the folder, click the 'Save' button.

18. The file downloads
When the file has downloaded, you will see a message that the download has completed.

19. Close the window
When the file has downloaded, you can close the window by clicking the red 'x' button in the top-right.
